Gap in Literature

Gap in Literature

Healthcare cyber-attacks and their mitigation techniques in Industry 4.0 is the topic selected. Advanced threats and attacks have developed by cyber criminals unaware of healthcare professionals. I want to address the latest threats and mitigation strategies that help healthcare organizations and patients secure their information. Cybercriminals believe the healthcare industry is a soft target. Cybercriminals routinely target healthcare organizations. Healthcare industry vulnerabilities can be linked to various issues, including a lack of security awareness among care personnel, reliance on old unpatched systems that are no longer supported, a broad attack surface, and a lack of staffing resources.
Qualitative and quantitative research methods address the problem by conducting interviews and an online survey with healthcare professionals. Factor Analysis Information Risk (FAIR) and Technology acceptance models (TAM) are utilized for this study.

Research questions
What are the most common types of social attacks against humans encountered by healthcare organizations?
What policies and governance adopted by healthcare organizations have resulted in enhanced resilience?
How does an organization perform a cybersecurity risk assessment to identify the role of humans in the loop for enhancing cybersecurity?
What is the role of the training program in enhancing healthcare professionals’ awareness of cyber threats, and how can we measure the impact of training and awareness activities adopted within an organization?
What have cyber defense strategies been proposed by national and international organizations to strengthen cyber resilience?
Findings: The research aims to synthesize the recent literature on human behavior-related security weaknesses that compromise the cyber defense strategy used by healthcare organizations.

Professor Response:
Hi Student
Interesting topic but remember that your research question must fill a scholarly gap in the literature. Also, take care to proof read your APA Style works. Typo’s and grammar mistakes in this one as this is aproposal should be in the future tense. Glad to have you in the class,
Good progress on an interesting topic area and good progress on finding scholarly literature, but what is the scholarly gap in the literature. Identifying that gap will help narrow your look at an IT topic in healthcare. Remember too that proper APA Style is essential as you refine your scholarly writing skills needed in this scholarly writing effort. Example, your third paragraph first sentence “…attacks trick…” and use nouns rather than pronouns, ex. “it” HINT, again, the Purdue OWL is a great source of citation and grammar requirements for APA style seventh edition.

Step one: Observation

  1.  Write a short summary, approximately a paragraph, of Table 2.1. Try to give a concise (short) but rich description of each of the four guppy pools.
  2. Write a short summary, approximately a couple of sentences, of Tables 3 and 4. These tables discuss different characteristics related to guppy mating.

Step Two: Draw a Conclusion

  1. What selection pressures caused the variation in the color pattern of male guppies? Support your claims with evidence.
  2. Is it better to be bright or drab if you are a male guppy? Support your claims with evidence.

Protein

Protein

Can protein diets be related to disease like, such as kidney disease osteoporosis or others?  How do our choices in protein foods increase or decrease our health risk?

then reply separately to these two student and have a question in it .

A healthy diet incorporates all nutrients in moderation. Low protein intake has several health consequences, and a severe lack of protein in the diet eventually causes death. Long-term consumption of a high-protein diet could be linked with metabolic and clinical problems, such as loss of bone mass and renal dysfunction. However, although it is well accepted that a high-protein diet may be dangerous to individuals with existing kidney dysfunction, there is little evidence that high protein intake is dangerous for healthy individuals. Although severe protein deficiency is rare in the developed world, it is a leading cause of death in children in many poor, underdeveloped countries. There are many factors that influence bone mass, but protein has been identified as being both detrimental and beneficial to bone health, depending on a variety of factors, including the level of protein in the diet, the protein source, calcium intake, weight loss, and the acid/base balance of the diet.  High dietary protein taken as a purified isolated nutrient increases urinary excretion of calcium (Allen et al., 1979). Observational studies conducted in the general population suggest diets high in animal protein, such as the primary protein source is red meat, are linked to a higher risk for kidney stones, kidney disease, liver malfunction, colorectal cancer, and osteoporosis.

Protein plays and essential role in our diet. Proteins are the building blocks of like. Every cell in the human body according to (MedlinePlus, Ov/envy/article/002467.htm) contains protein. The basic structure of protein is a chain of amino acids. Protein is needed in our diet to help our body repair cells and make new ones. Protein is also important for growth and development in children, teens, and pregnant women.

Protein is a necessary part of everyone’s diet. It is important for individuals to get enough protein. Typically, people need 40 to 60 grams of protein per day as part of a healthy, balanced diet. With chronic kidney disease, however, it is often recommended that patients limit their protein intake. Making it difficult for the body to remove the waste, meaning the kidney are failing (Renal Failure) which includes stages 1-3 stages such as: Acute Kidney Disease, Chronic Kidney Disease, and End Stage Kidney Disease making waste harder for the body to remove which over time cause a person to be placed to dialysis to help protect from End-Stage Renal Failure. At this point limitations are place on fluid intake to prevent fluid over-load based on the fact the kidneys can no longer filter themselves with dialysis treatment.

While there is a complex interconnection between protein and osteoporosis, proteins are needed to drive bone development and maturation, high protein-diets can reduce bone mineral density. However, studies show that there is a difference between the effects of plant proteins, and animal protein on bone mineral density.

COVID 19

COVID 19

For this week’s discussion, you will select a topic related to the immunology or pathophysiology of COVID19. Your post must be at least 120 words of your own (please make sure to use your own words- do not just copy and paste from other resources). Make sure to post a link to the resources you use. You should also reply to at least 2 other post with 35 words or more and at least one follow up question.   You may select one of the topics below or a different topic related to COVID19 immunology of your choice.  You do NOT have to answer every question listed for each topic- these are just suggestions for some of the topics to research from an immunological perspective. Initial post is due by Thursday (6 points) and two replies with at least one follow-up question (2 points each) by Sunday.

For one bonus point on this discussion, reply to a classmate’s question with an additional post of at least 35 words or more. Make sure to cite the source for your answer.

1. Briefly discuss treatment of COVID19 with one or more of the following:

  • monoclonal antibodies, e.g.,  Eli Lilly’s bebtelovimab, Astra Zeneca’s Evusheld (tixagevimab and cilgavimab)
  • antiviral medications, e.g.,  Pfizer’s Paxlovid (the drug administered to President Biden and Dr. Anthony Fauci when they contracted Covid summer 2022),  Gilead’s remdesivir(administered to former President Trump in October 2020), Merck’s molnupiravir

Some of the questions you might consider are:  For which patient populations are these treatments indicated? How does each treatment work to reduce the incidence and/or severity of COVID19? At what point in the illness is each specific treatment effective and why? What is Paxlovid Covid rebound? Which monoclonal antibody products are currently recommended for treatment and/or prevention of COVID19? Which antigenic epitopes of the SARS-CoV-2 virus do these monoclonal antibodies target?  Why has treatment with some formerly effective monoclonal antibodies been discontinued, e.g., Regeneron’s REGEN-COV (casirivimab and imdevimab; administered to former President Trump in October 2020) and Glaxo Smith Kline’s Xevudy (sotrovimab)?

OR

2. Explain how one or more of the currently available COVID19 vaccines work to reduce the incidence and/or severity of COVID19 infections. Some of the questions you might consider are: Which antigenic epitopes do the current vaccines target? Based on current evidence, how long do SARS-CoV-2 antibodies persist after the primary series compared to a booster dose?  Are there differences in immune response depending on how much time elapses between vaccinations?  Are there differences in immune responses of patients with immune suppressing conditions?  Is there any evidence if cell-mediated immunity, i.e., T cells, is also affected by vaccination? How have new variants, e.g., omicron, been able to partially evade the immune response inducted by the vaccines? How do the recently authorized new bivalent boosters by Moderna and Pfizer work to specifically target current omicron strains more effectively?

OR

3. Healthcare workers will likely be taking care of patients with post acute COVID 19 infection AKA “long COVID” for possibly many years to come. What do we know about the incidence, manifestations, and pathophysiology of post acute coronavirus infection?  What mechanisms are thought to be responsible for the development of long COVID syndrome? Which risk factors increase a patient’s risk for long COVID? Which organ systems may be affected?  What treatment options are being developed for these conditions?

Since the research on COVID19 is always being updated, bear in mind that much of the information you find may change in the next few months, as we continue to learn more about this condition.
